Description:

During operation of a fuel cell system, the stack continuously generates a large amount of heat - the heat dissipation of a fuel cell is 10%~20% higher than that of a traditional internal combustion engine. Unlike a traditional internal combustion engine, a hydrogen fuel cell stack is immersed in coolant; this special combination imposes extremely strict technical requirements on the coolant. The coolant must not only have the cooling, anti-corrosion, antifreeze and anti-scaling properties of traditional engine coolant, but also have extremely low conductivity, higher cleanliness and good material compatibility.

Low conductivity is the most critical indicator of fuel cell coolant. The coolant flow channel inside the fuel cell stack is in direct contact with the high-voltage bipolar plate; a high conductivity will form an ionic current through the coolant, causing electrochemical corrosion and battery efficiency loss. If the coolant conductivity is too high, it will also cause insulation problems in the fuel cell engine. LEG-45 has a conductivity of <2uS/cm, better than the general industry requirement (<5uS/cm), and can effectively prevent electrochemical corrosion caused by ionic current.

LEG-45 uses high-purity glycol as the base fluid and adds a non-ionic corrosion inhibitor to avoid ion precipitation contaminating the cooling system. The product is colorless transparent or light yellow, odorless, with a pH value of 5.0~8.0, and has good inhibition and protection for both metal and non-metal parts of the fuel cell system. It is suitable not only for graphite stacks but also for metal stacks.

The ultra-long non-ionic inhibitor provides long-lasting protection, with a regular warranty of 2 years/50,000 km. The product has a freezing point of <-45C and a boiling point of 109C, and can work stably over the wide temperature range of -45C to 95C.

Besides LEG-45, multiple freezing point customization options (-25C, -35C, etc.) such as LEG-35 are available.

Fuel Cell Antifreeze Coolant LEG-45 Below 2uS/cm High Purity Glycol Non-Ionic InhibitorApplications:

This product is widely used in the thermal management circuit of various proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) systems, specifically including:

  • Hydrogen fuel commercial vehicles (heavy trucks, city buses, logistics vehicles, cold-chain logistics vehicles)
  • Hydrogen fuel passenger vehicles (sedans, SUVs)
  • Stationary fuel cell power stations (backup power, distributed energy systems, combined heat and power)
  • Portable fuel cell system cooling
  • Electronic component cooling, computer thermal management systems
  • Power plant cooling systems
  • Medical device cooling systems
  • Other non-ionic environment cooling systems

Typical application position: filled in the fuel cell system cooling circuit, used together with the radiator, water pump, intercooler, deionizer, etc. It is recommended to use it together with an ion exchange resin filter (deionizer) to maintain the low-conductivity state of the coolant over the long term.

Company Advantages:

Shanghai Yibaijia Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., as a professional hydrogen energy parts supply platform, distributes the LEG series antifreeze coolants dedicated to fuel cells. FAQ

Q1: Can you provide samples for testing?
A: Yes, we support sample orders for vehicle installation testing and performance verification, and also accept mixed-model sample orders.

Q2: What is the delivery lead time?
A: Sample orders usually take 5-7 working days; bulk orders (depending on order quantity) generally take 15-30 working days.

Q3: Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ) limit?
A: 10-piece sample trial orders are supported, and bulk order prices are more favorable.

Q4: Why does a fuel cell system need a dedicated antifreeze coolant?
A: Unlike a traditional internal combustion engine, a hydrogen fuel cell stack is immersed in coolant, and the coolant flow channel is in direct contact with the high-voltage bipolar plate. A high conductivity will form an ionic current through the coolant, causing electrochemical corrosion and battery efficiency loss. Therefore, the fuel cell coolant must not only have cooling, antifreeze and anti-corrosion performance, but also have extremely low conductivity, higher cleanliness and good material compatibility.

Q5: What is the conductivity of LEG-45?
A: LEG-45 has a conductivity of <2uS/cm, better than the general industry requirement (usually required to be less than 5uS/cm).

Q6: What types of stacks is LEG-45 suitable for?
A: LEG-45 is suitable not only for graphite stacks but also for metal stacks, providing inhibition and protection for both metal and non-metal parts.

Q7: What freezing point specifications are available for LEG-45?
A: Multiple freezing point customization options are available, including -25C, -35C and -45C.

Q8: Does LEG-45 need to be used with other equipment?
A: It is recommended to use it together with an ion exchange resin filter (deionizer) to maintain the low-conductivity state of the coolant over the long term.

Q9: What is the packaging specification of LEG-45?
A: The standard packaging specification is 25kg/drum.

Q10: How to handle product failures?
A: We implement a strict quality control system, with an out-of-factory defect rate below 0.2%. During the warranty period, small batches of defective products will be replaced with new ones in the next order; batch quality problems will be negotiated for repair or replacement to ensure customer rights.
