Quick Detail:
- Hot-film air mass meter developed specifically for intake measurement of internal combustion engines and fuel cell systems
- Measuring range covers 0~970kg/h (different models adapt to different displacement and power systems)
- Adopts hot-film sensing principle, measuring accurately independent of atmospheric pressure and temperature
- Digital signal output with strong anti-electromagnetic interference capability
- Extremely short response time (<15ms), able to track dynamic intake changes in real time
- Can measure both the magnitude and the direction of the air flow
- Adapts to different installation environments
- Working temperature range: -40C ~ +120C (up to 130C for a short time)
Description:
HFM7 (Hot-film air-mass meter) is a new generation hot-film air mass meter used to accurately measure the fresh air mass drawn in by an engine or fuel cell system. HFM7 consists of a plug-in sensor and an integrated measuring duct (outer housing). The sensor unit is fixed on a metal substrate by a CMF sensor chip and an SHF evaluation circuit, and is mounted inside the connector housing.
Its core measuring principle is as follows: a heating resistor located in the center of the sensor heats the micromachined sensing diaphragm to an over-temperature state related to the ambient temperature. The temperature distribution on the diaphragm is measured by two temperature resistors symmetrically arranged on both sides of the heating resistor. When air flows through the sensor, the temperature distribution on the diaphragm changes, causing a resistance difference between the upstream and downstream temperature resistors. This difference depends on the direction and magnitude of the air flow, so HFM7 can simultaneously measure intake flow and direction. Because the micromachined sensing element is extremely small with low heat capacity, the response time of HFM7 is less than 15ms, enabling real-time tracking of rapidly changing intake conditions.

FAQ
Q1: Can you provide samples for testing?
A: Yes, we support sample orders for vehicle installation testing and performance verification, and also accept mixed-model sample orders.
Q2: What is the delivery lead time?
A: Sample orders usually take 5-7 working days; bulk orders (depending on order quantity) generally take 15-30 working days.
Q3: Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ) limit?
A: There is no strict MOQ limit; 10-piece sample trial orders are supported and bulk order prices are more favorable.
Q4: What are the requirements of HFM7 on the air filter?
A: The separation efficiency of the air filter over its entire life cycle should be >99% (per ISO 5011), and the particle size on the clean air side should be <20um. Reliable sealing between the filter element edge and the clean air side must be ensured.
Q5: Which components should the HFM7 installation position be kept away from?
A: HFM7 should not be installed near solenoid valves or ignition systems (ignition coils, distributors, etc.), with a minimum distance of 10cm. It should also be kept away from heat sources such as exhaust pipes or turbochargers unless effective thermal protection is taken.
Q6: How should HFM7 be installed?
A: HFM7 must be installed between the air filter and the throttle valve (or turbocharger). The installation position should avoid air flow separation, and there should be no pipes with enlarged cross-section or too small bending radius upstream. The connector must be installed facing upward.
Q7: How to handle product failures?
A: We implement a strict quality control system, with an out-of-factory defect rate below 0.2%. During the warranty period, small batches of defective products will be replaced with new ones in the next order; batch quality problems will be negotiated for repair or replacement to ensure customer rights.
