Product Description

Fuel Cell System Plastic Vacuum Check Valve CHPW/KL Series Prevents Gas Backflow Protects the Stack Low-Cost Engineering Plastic Solution

Quick Detail:

  • Plastic check valve developed specifically for fuel cell system PACK purging and air lines
  • Core function: prevents gas backflow, ensuring the gas can only flow in one direction
  • Typical application: installed between the PACK purge outlet and the tailpipe to prevent high-temperature high-humidity exhaust from backflowing into the PACK
  • Opening pressure: <2kPa (extremely low opening pressure, ensuring smooth discharge of purging gas)
  • Reverse cut-off: pressurize 0.2MPa in the pipe head direction, held for 15s without the check valve opening
  • Reliable sealing: parts 1 and 5 fit tightly, with no leakage at the connection under pressure
  • Material: fluorosilicone rubber diaphragm + engineering plastic housing
  • Temperature resistance: -30C~120C (meeting extreme vehicle environments)
  • Simple structure, low cost, high reliability

Description:

In a fuel cell system, the stack PACK needs to be purged periodically to prevent hydrogen accumulation from causing safety hazards. The purge gas is usually drawn from the air compressor side into the PACK, sweeping the possibly leaked hydrogen to the tailpipe for discharge. However, the gas in the tailpipe has a very high temperature (up to 80~100C) and high humidity. If the pressure inside the PACK is lower than the tailpipe pressure, the high-temperature high-humidity exhaust may backflow through the purge line into the PACK, condense into liquid water after the temperature drops, accumulate inside the stack, and cause serious risks such as reduced insulation resistance, corrosion of metal parts and even stack short circuit.

The CHPW/KL series plastic check valve is a low-cost, high-reliability solution designed precisely to solve this problem. The check valve is installed on the connecting line between the PACK purge outlet and the tailpipe; it only allows gas to flow from inside the PACK to the tailpipe. When the tailpipe pressure is higher than the PACK internal pressure, the check valve closes automatically, effectively preventing high-temperature high-humidity exhaust from backflowing into the PACK, thereby ensuring the PACK interior is always dry. When the PACK-side pressure is higher than the tailpipe side, the gas pushes the diaphragm open and the purge gas is discharged smoothly; when the tailpipe-side pressure is higher than the PACK side, the diaphragm fits tightly against the valve seat under the reverse pressure, achieving reliable cut-off. This simple design brings extremely high reliability and very low cost.

In terms of performance, the check valve opening pressure difference is less than 2kPa, ensuring the purge gas can be discharged smoothly at an extremely low pressure; the reverse cut-off capability is excellent, holding 0.2MPa for 15s in the pipe head direction without opening; the working temperature range covers -30C~120C, meeting the harsh use requirements of the fuel cell system.

FAQ

Q1: Can you provide samples for testing?
A: Yes, we support sample orders for vehicle installation testing and performance verification, and also accept mixed-model sample orders.

Q2: What is the delivery lead time?
A: Sample orders usually take 5-7 working days; bulk orders (depending on order quantity) generally take 15-30 working days.

Q3: Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ) limit?
A: Yes, there is an order quantity limit, >=500 pieces for sample trial orders; bulk order prices are more favorable.

Q4: Why does the fuel cell PACK purge line need a check valve?
A: The PACK purge gas is drawn from the air compressor side and connected to the tailpipe after passing through the PACK. However, the gas in the tailpipe has high temperature and high humidity. If the pressure inside the PACK is lower than the exhaust pressure, the high-temperature high-humidity exhaust will backflow into the PACK, condense into liquid water, accumulate inside the stack and cause risks of reduced insulation, corrosion and even short circuit. The role of the check valve is to only allow gas to flow from the PACK to the tailpipe and prevent backflow.

Q5: What is the opening pressure of the check valve?
A: Pressurize 0.2MPa in the pipe head direction and hold for 15s without the check valve opening; the reverse cut-off is reliable.

Q6: What is the working temperature range of the check valve?
A: The temperature resistance covers -30C~120C, meeting extreme vehicle environment requirements.

Q7: How to handle product failures?
A: We implement a strict quality control system, with an out-of-factory defect rate below 0.2%. During the warranty period, small batches of defective products will be replaced with new ones in the next order; batch quality problems will be negotiated for repair or replacement to ensure customer rights.
