Description:

In a fuel cell cooling system, the coolant exhibits a significant thermal expansion and contraction effect within the working temperature range. When the system heats up, the coolant volume expands; if there is nowhere to accommodate it, the internal system pressure will rise sharply, possibly exceeding the rated pressure of pipes, valves or heat exchangers, causing leakage or even component damage. The expansion tank is precisely the key component solving this problem: it accommodates the volume expansion of the coolant caused by temperature changes, reducing the water pressure fluctuation caused by water expansion and improving the safety and reliability of system operation; when the system leaks or cools down, the expansion tank water level drops and replenishes the system; at the same time it removes the air released during water heating.

The HZSX series expansion tank is developed specifically for fuel cell cooling systems, offering the HZSX-1506 and HZSX-1740C models. The body uses PP (polypropylene) material, with excellent hydrolysis resistance and corrosion resistance, able to operate stably over the long term within the wide temperature range of -40C~120C.

HZSX-1506 expansion tank: total capacity 4.7L, effective volume range 1.5~2.9L, equipped with a reed switch type level sensor (optional). When the float is at the bottom of the rod (no water), pins 1 and 2 are disconnected; when the float is at the top of the rod (with water), pins 1 and 2 are connected. Reed switch life: >=6x10^5 times at 24V/200mA, >=10^8 times at 24V/10mA. The product is equipped with 3 mounting damping pads, a transparent hose and a tank cap assembly.

HZSX-1740C expansion tank: total capacity 4.0L, effective volume range 1.3~2.2L, opening pressure 0.05MPa. The product is equipped with 4 mounting damping pads, a vent hose length of 1500mm, and a metal liner added at the side degassing port. The product requires all radius transition surfaces to be smooth; the product should be full, smooth, with uniform wall thickness and no shrinkage defects.

Both products pass a strict sealing test: at 0.1MPa air pressure held for 1min without leakage. Unspecified tolerances follow GB/T14486-2008.

Fuel Cell Coolant Expansion Tank HZSX Series 5-200kW 4.0-4.7L Wide Temperature RangeApplications:

This product is widely used in the coolant circuit of various proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) systems, specifically including:

  • Hydrogen fuel commercial vehicles (heavy trucks, city buses, logistics vehicles)
  • Hydrogen fuel passenger vehicles (sedans, SUVs)
  • Stationary fuel cell power stations (backup power, distributed energy systems)
  • Fuel cell forklifts and construction machinery
  • Fuel cell ships
  • Fuel cell system test benches

Typical application position: installed in the fuel cell coolant circulation pipe (usually located on the return main pipe near the inlet of the circulation water pump); maintains stable system pressure by absorbing the coolant thermal expansion volume, replenishing water at constant pressure, and removing gas.

FAQ

Q1: Can you provide samples for testing?
A: Yes, we support sample orders for vehicle installation testing and performance verification, and also accept mixed-model sample orders.

Q2: What is the delivery lead time?
A: Sample orders usually take 5-7 working days; bulk orders (depending on order quantity) generally take 15-30 working days.

Q3: Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ) limit?
A: 10-piece sample trial orders are supported, and bulk order prices are more favorable.

Q4: Why does a fuel cell system need an expansion tank?
A: The coolant exhibits a significant thermal expansion and contraction effect within the working temperature range. The role of the expansion tank is to accommodate the volume expansion of the coolant caused by temperature changes, reducing the water pressure fluctuation caused by water expansion; to replenish water for the system when it leaks or cools down; and to remove the air released during water heating.

Q5: Where should the expansion tank be installed in the cooling system?
A: Usually installed at the highest point of the coolant circulation pipe, connected to the return main pipe near the inlet of the circulation water pump.

Q6: Does the HZSX-1506 come with a level sensor?
A: The HZSX-1506 can be optionally equipped with a reed switch type level sensor (float switch). When the float is at the bottom (no water) the switch is disconnected; when at the top (with water) the switch is connected.

Q7: How to handle product failures?
A: We implement a strict quality control system, with an out-of-factory defect rate below 0.2%. During the warranty period, small batches of defective products will be replaced with new ones in the next order; batch quality problems will be negotiated for repair or replacement to ensure customer rights.
